Ticket Sales

Learn the various ways to sell Admission Tickets with Auctria.

💰 Selling Tickets

Once your tickets are set up, it’s time to start selling! Auctria offers multiple ways to sell tickets—whether you're handling admin-side sales or letting guests purchase directly from your event website.

This page covers all your options for selling tickets, plus how to limit availability and manage refunds.

🖥️ Selling from the Auctria Dashboard

Admins can sell tickets manually from the Items or Participants pages in the Auctria dashboard. This is a great option if you're handling sales over the phone, in person, or need to reserve specific tickets for key guests.

  • You’ll choose the ticket item and assign it to a participant.
  • If the participant doesn’t exist yet, you can create one on the fly.
  • You can enter payment details or leave the balance unpaid.

📱 Selling via the Admin App

The Auctria Admin App lets you sell tickets on the go—perfect for box office-style sales at the door or during check-in.

  • Quickly select ticket types
  • Assign or create a participant
  • Collect payment right from your device

🌐 Selling on Your Event Website

Most of your ticket sales will probably happen through your event website. Just add your ticket items to a ticket page, and guests can buy them like any other item—no admin action needed.

  • Guests enter their own details (name, email, guest list info)
  • If enabled, they can select meal choices or seating preferences
  • Ticket purchases automatically generate a participant account

🆓 Selling Free or Discounted Tickets

Sometimes you may want to sell "free" or discounted tickets, such as when selling tickets for Teacher, Faculty, or Staff. There are multiple ways provide free/discounted tickets in Auctria:

  • Force sale total to $0
  • Create a coupon code
  • Create the ticket as a donation item

🚫 Limiting Ticket Sales

Need to cap how many tickets are sold? Use a basket limit! This restricts how many of a given ticket (or group of tickets) can be sold across your whole event.

This is perfect for:

  • Limiting total attendance
  • Reserving a fixed number of VIP seats
  • Preventing overselling at the door

💳 Issuing Refunds

Sometimes plans change! If a guest needs a refund, you can handle it from the Tickets dashboard or their Participant profile.

  • Refund part or all of the ticket amount
  • Leave the ticket in place (for record-keeping) or deactivate it
  • Optionally, reassign the ticket to someone else
